Note that for the two anthropology PhD positions, both in Gothenburg, EU mobility rules apply, meaning that applicants must not have resided/carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the recruitment date. BUT there are positions in other disciplines available in France, Spain, Norway and Latvia, to which those who have resided in Sweden can apply. More info below!

The EU HORIZON MSCA Doctoral Network ArCHe “Archaeological Coastal Heritage: Past, present and future of a hidden prehistoric legacy” (https://www.arche.uio.no/) now announces ten PhD positions in the fields of archaeology, archaeobiology, biology, social anthropology, cultural heritage studies, coastal engineering, geography and geology. We are offering PhD projects in an innovative, international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral Doctoral network focussing on the legacy of ancient hunter-fisher-gatherers across coastal areas of Europe. These PhD fellows will study the past meaning of this fragile legacy, understand its embeddedness and environmental threats in present coastal areas and will explore holistic ways of sustainably integrating this archaeological heritage into lived landscapes in the future.
